Hi there! My name's Katy and I'm looking to recommend someone for a 12 month lease for a 711sq ft, 1 bedroom in South Austin. Rent is $846 and includes the following amenities: full washer/dryer, walk in closet, 9 foot ceilings, central air, dishwasher, garbage disposal, gourmet kitchen, microwave, private entrances (much like having your own townhome!), and track lighting. This apartment complex also has its own dog park, swimming pool, hot tub, DVD rentals, 24-hour emergency maintenance, gated entrance, community wifi/community business center, outdoor grilling area, a beautiful clubhouse with a fitness room, access to a kitchen which is always stocked with goodies, and a helpful, friendly staff. Many of the people that live here are college students or young professionals, so it's perfect for someone that's just starting out in the adult world. :) There's also plenty of restaurants, H.E.B, Walmart, Target and a cineplex within a mile, so there's lots to do without venturing out too far! Downtown Austin is a 10 minute drive away.

Basically, I'm looking for someone to sign their own 12 month lease and move into my apartment. This does not mean you will be taking over *my* lease -- you will have your own. I unfortunately need to leave Austin because I've found a better paying job in another city, but I need to recommend someone to do it! Help a girl out, yeah? :) If you'd like more information or pictures of my apartment, please don't hesitate to ask. If you could pass this along to anyone you know that's looking for an apartment, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks guys, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Apartment for Sublease. Aug. 5th, 2010 @ 05:51 pm

Needing a home before school starts without bleeding your wallet dry?

I'm moving in with a friend, and needing to sublet my place. The rent is 480 a month for a one bedroom at Verandah apartments. You pay 1/4th water in addition to the rent (Though that usually comes to the 490s-505 as long as you aren't trying to put a pool in your living room). Also, I've paid the pet deposit so you can bring Fido or Fluffnstuff along - no problem! It is a fairly large apartment for a one bedroom and you get a walk in closet, full kitchen, a storage closet in the living room and several other perks. My apartment is on the first floor, so you don't have to lug things up and down stairs. Your internet and phone service provider is generally Grande (Although the rates are pretty good).

The management is very kind and often willing to work with you (Hint: If you have trouble making the rent on the fifth, send it through the mail on the third. As long as it's postmarked on the third, you're gravy. Handy for those of us whose jobs like to make us wait). Maintenance is prompt and for its age, Verandah is holding up pretty well. You are on a Texas State Bus route, so that's no problem.

What'll happen is you will be approved to take over the lease entirely (And I am having this place steam cleaned, etc before I rent it out - no worries. Still cleaning and packing) and move in around or slightly before the 14th of August. If you're interested, please contact me by leaving a comment here or using thechibi@gmail.com.

Texas State bus pass for sale Sep. 4th, 2009 @ 09:59 pm
katieupsidedown
I graduated from Texas State last August but decided to go back this semester for a second degree.

A few days into my classes I realized that this would be a waste of my time and money.

I bought a punchcard to ride the bus from Austin to campus, but only used it once. These punchcards are $40 new and have 10 punches on them, so that's $4/punch. Since I used it once, it's now worth $36.

They're no refundable, so I need to unload the thing on someone. I have paypal if you want me to mail it to you, or you can pick it up if you're in Austin.

Hey guys,

So I am a recent Texas State grad and I thought I was going to be in the area for the next year; but, turns out, I got a job in Dallas so I have to relocate before I even get into my new place.
Its at U Club on Leah st.  Its right next to the movie theater.  There are 3 other girls living in the aparment now and they are really fun and cool.  The down stairs already has furniture but the room itself is unfurnished.
The rent is 375 for one year and 400 for a 9 month lease.  Move in date is August 22.  Let me know if you are interested in the room.  Thanks so much.

Hey guys, I know the holidays are coming up and a lot of you will probably travel at some point.

I am offering pet sitting for one day, all weekend, or whenever needed for traveling pet owners.

Im not messing with tiny charges here and there and ripping anyone off, just good old fashioned having your pet over at my place and treating them like my own (which is VERY WELL) for a flat rate of 20 bucks a day.

if anyone is interested, let me know.

I have an ad up on craigslist..

Have a good one!

p.s. all types of pets, except snakes.

Looking for someone to sublease Nov. 11th, 2008 @ 07:29 pm
clutter
I currently share a 3 bedroom/1.75 bathroom apartment with one roommate. I pay $450 a month. That includes everything except electricity. I'm going to be moving to San Antonio, and I'm looking for someone to sublet from me sometime around January (lease is until August '09). Gender isn't an issue. Pets are cool.

The Apartment
I live at Balcones Apartments. They're kinda old, but it's generally quiet. You may have heard something about them getting torn down, but that deal ended up not falling through.

-Literally across the street from campus, and walking distance from little HEB and the square. Before I started commuting to San Antonio, I was getting gas maybe once a month.
-Large bedrooms.
-My room (potentially yours) has a 3/4 bathroom attached.
-Pet friendly. My roommate has a Yorkie, and I have a cat. Deposit is $100 for a cat, and a little more for a dog (I forget how much) If you have a cat, I'm pretty sure my pet deposit would cover you.
-Fast maintenance crew. They've usually responded the next day when I've asked for a repair.
-Spare bedroom. It's a long story, but we got a good deal on a three bedroom apartment, so you've got a lot of room to… whatever

The Roommate
His name is Topher, and he has an aforementioned Yorkie. He's very funny and rides a bike. He's fairly social, but we've never really had a party at our place. He's often out running around, so you get the place to yourself a lot of the time.

An ideal subletter would be someone with a sense of humor, but not too wild. Responsible, respectful, blah blah blah… An art student would be a plus. (we're both full time designers who graduated from the com des program here)

If interested, please respond to this post, or email me at claude (dot) ramey (at) gmail (dot) com. Or facebook me. I'm the only Claude in the Texas State network; look me up.

Gin and Tonic
This was my Halloween costume. It has nothing to do with this post, but I figured it would get your attention.

Practice/Rehearsal Spaces Oct. 8th, 2008 @ 12:32 pm

I don't know how many musicians/artists are in this community, but a friend of mine just opened up Sound Tank Studios.

There are a few rooms available. None of them are more than $250/mo. And they're huge rooms (22x13). They also offer hourly rates with no peak rates.. $10/hr. with a 3-hour minimum, after 3 hours it's $7/hr. They rent rooms to musicians for practice/rehearsal, as well as for smaller live music events, art shows, cd-release parties, live shows, etc.

They also do recording with Pro Tools: $15/hr. not including the setup fee.
